water tower model

As part of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway’s new Visitor Centre in the still functioning water tower at Keighley Railway station, focus was put on explaining what a water tower is and how it was used to deliver water to engines.

Crosscoaster designed, built, programmed and delivered a fully working 3D printed model with operational valves and real running water. Built in a custom cabinet it shows: the water tower, all four tracks with three platforms (one with full canopy), two Midland Railway style water columns, one MR style water crane, two ‘O’ Gauge engines watering, water tower refill button, three MR style water valves, light up indicators and touch screen to explain more about water towers and how they work.

Children and adults can play about with the buttons and valve and discover how water gets from the water tower, to the engines.
