3D printed
mIDLAND rAILWAY cAST iRON style lETTERING

As part of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway’s new Visitor Centre, and in line with the Midland Railway heritage, there was a need for some heritage cast iron lettering.

Cast lettering can be expensive, taking time to create reusable moulds and casting the letters. Crosscoaster provided a cheaper, faster service and recreated the letters in CAD before 3D printing, sanding and painting the letters. To the naked eye visitors wouldn’t know the difference. This has been used across multiple signs and even on the main exterior visitor centre sign. These letters are now easily replicated at the press of a singular button, without the need for expensive casts.

Crosscoaster was also able to build and supply the wooden surrounds for both signs seen below.
